Welcome to AzamiLaw Blog

While I will attempt answer the questions you may have regarding your legal matter, my blogs are not meant to serve as legal advice.  Every single case is different and there are exceptions to every rule.  Then there are exceptions to those exceptions.  If the practice of law was that easy, the bar exam pass rates would be 100%.  Lawyers would not be needed.

Google searches have made information more accessible, but knowing whether the information is accurate, complete, updated or even applicable to your cases is where an attorney comes into play.  How many of our doctors have yelled at us for not searching online for our ailments?  I know mine has and yet I find myself doing it.  I'll forgive you for the same.  However, when you do come to me or ready my blogs, please, put such information you have found online aside.

The best way to get accurate information is by an office consultation where I can ask you the questions necessary to get the information (facts) in order to know the legal course of action.

Law Office of Wais Azami in Garden Grove is centrally-located at the corner of 22 Freeway and Valley View Street.  We are local to the following cities surrounding us; Los Alamitos, Anaheim, Stanton, Bolsa, Midway City, Westminster, Huntington Beach, Seal Beach, Long Beach, Santa Ana and Buena Park.

We keep our overhead modest in order assist you with an affordable legal representation.  Our focus is helping the type of people who are similar to my family.  I am an immigrant.  My family was and most still are working class.  A lot do not own their home--they only rent.  They struggle daily like the rest of us.  The need for an affordable legal representation is enormous in our community.  This is why I have come back to Orange County, the place I grew up.  I'm a product of Esther Walther Elementary,  Dale Jr. High, Magnolia High School, Cypress College, and California State University at Fullerton.  I want to assist the community which helped raise me.

Please enjoy my blogs but don't use them as a substitute for legal consultation.

What happens in court after an arrest?

Posted by Wais Azami | Dec 12, 2020 | 0 Comments

A criminal case has several stages from initial investigation by law enforcement which leads to an arrest to sentencing after a conviction. After an arrest, a defendant faces an arraignment, followed by potentially a preliminary hearing, plea bargaining, trial and then sentencing. This process can take from a few minutes on up to months or years.
